Corvette Offers Real-time Driving Analysis

Available on every new Chevrolet Corvette, the Performance Data Recorder offers drivers a chance to record, analyze and share driving experiences both on the track or open highway. Utilizing a high-definition camera, telemetry recorder and SD card, drivers can capture thrilling moments and analyze what went right, or wrong, in their latest drive. The ability to capture and analyze driving performance used to be reserved for professional racing teams. By providing this capability to any driver who can afford a Corvette, Chevrolet brings the racing experience home for the weekend thrill seeker. Contact your Phoenix Chevy Dealer, Chapman Chevy for more information about PDR and how you can obtain a Corvette with this thrilling new feature.

Different Modes Offer Specialized Recordings

Whether you are on a closed track, on a challenging road or just testing your performance in the quarter-mile, the PDR offers four different modes tailored to each experience. Performance Mode simply records speed, such as the time it takes to go from 0-60 miles per hour or elapsed time in the quarter mile. The Track Mode contains the most data, recording speed, g-force, revolutions per minute, lap time and more. Track Mode is the closest thing you can get to racing telemetry without being on a racing team. Touring Mode records video and audio of your drive, while Sport Mode gives a trimmed down version of the data on Track Mode.

Software Helps Analyze Performance

After you complete your drive, view the recording on the Corvette’s touch screen or download the data to your computer. Included software offers analysis that will help improve your driving technique, telling you when you should accelerate, brake, or shift, for example. The software serves as a driving coach designed to help you reduce your lap times and create a more exhilarating driving experience. Keep the data from each drive and you can evaluate your improvement as you incorporate tips and tricks from the driving coach. Check out the Corvette and PDR at your Phoenix Chevy dealer, Chapman Chevy in Tempe.

Share Video on Social Media

Impress your friends and other car buffs by sharing the videos on Facebook and Twitter. You can select short snippets (hopefully some of your best moments) to share the thrill of driving a new Corvette through a harrowing course. The HD camera is mounted in the windshield header, sharing the driver’s point of view as you barrel through turns and accelerate down the straightaway.

Kelley Blue Book Names Tahoe Best Buy

When it comes to full-size SUVs, there is no better buy on the market than the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe. That’s the verdict of popular consumer website Kelley Blue Book, which honored the large people and cargo hauler for its smooth ride, responsive handling and innovative features. The Tahoe is redesigned for 2015, offering innovative features like power folding rear seats and magnetic ride control that automatically adjusts to worsening road conditions. The Tahoe’s navigation system not only has a clear intuitive screen, but the entire console retracts at the touch of a button, leaving a large storage area for your phone and other essentials. KBB’s review of the Tahoe singled out the interior as the best in the large SUV class, offering modern styling with luxurious amenities. Drive the new Tahoe today at Chapman Chevy Tempe.

Add Tahoe to List of Car and Driver Best SUVs

The 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe also made the grade when Car and Driver magazine compiled its list of Best SUVs and Crossovers of 2015. Although still a cavernous vehicle that has plenty of room for people and/or boxes, the magazine praised the Tahoe’s car-like ride and handling. The Tahoe inherits structural stiffness from its Silverado frame, which also limits body roll as the behemoth tackles sharp corners. Electric assist steering and a very tight turning circle means the Tahoe is as manageable in tight urban areas as it is out on a ranch. The Tahoe remains as comfortable towing a boat as it does hauling a soccer team to its next practice. With 8,600 pounds of towing capacity, it is a popular choice for vacationers and work crews who need plenty of power to get the job done.

ALG Picks Tahoe for Residual Value Award

Auto industry forecasting giant ALG has selected the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe as best in class in residual value for 2015. The reason the Tahoe retains so much of its original purchase price is the realization that the vehicle continues to offer what people need; the ability to haul people and cargo with ease. ALG also likes the handling and ride of the Tahoe, as well as and improved interior and better fuel efficiency. Although the Tahoe is not inexpensive, ALG says the vehicle will retain more value in 5 years than any other full-size SUV. See what everyone is raving about when you drive the Tahoe for yourself at Chapman Chevy Tempe.

Wins Motor Trend’s Best Driver’s Car Award

Pitted against such heavyweight competition as the BMW M4, the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe and Porsche 911 Turbo S, the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 drove away with Motor Trend magazine’s prestigious “Best Driver Car” Award. Judges commented on how in tune the car was with a challenged closed course circuit that tested all the vehicles on acceleration, handling and ride. Aside from the superior handling, reviewers commented that the new Z/28 is just a blast to drive. From responsive steering and acceleration to the screaming engine that sings down the straightaways, the new Z/28 is the personification of a street legal car that was born to race. Check out the entire new Camaro line at Chapman Chevrolet in Tempe.

Old School Z/28 Relies on Massive Power

Although it has all the fancy computer doodads of other new sports cars, you don’t really need them to have fun in the Z/28. This old school Chevrolet Camaro utilizes power, and lots of it, to deliver a memorable driving experience. With the 7.0-liter LS7 under the hood, you just need to step on the gas and to unleash a neck-snapping 505 horsepower and 481 pound feet of torque. Finely engineered weight distribution and suspension keeps the oversize tires glued to the road around the sharpest of corners. Cars that go fast also need to stop fast. Chevrolet fills that bill with Brembo ceramic brakes all-around to deliver 1.5 g’s of deceleration. You won’t find a lot of bells and whistles inside the Z/28. All the excess weight has been stripped to increase performance; a plan that worked to perfection with comparison victories over such mighty sports cars as the Ford Mustang GT, and Challenger R/T Scat Pack.

Finely-tuned Suspension Doesn’t Mean Harsh Ride

As you roar through the corners in your new Z/28, you’ll notice a barely noticeable weight transfer from side to side. This is the result of dampers that automatically adjust their range for road conditions. Along with improved handling, the new Z/28 suspension also creates a luxurious ride that fills in potholes and glides over obstacles in the road. Sensors help keep all the wheels going in the same direction and a “fly mode” maintains the engine’s RPMs even when all four wheels leave the ground. This doesn’t mean it’s a good idea to have all four wheels leave the ground, but fun is fun, right? Take a grounded test drive of the all-new Z/28 at Chapman Chevrolet in Tempe.

New Base Cruze Cuts MSRP by $1,500

A new trim designation reduces the base price of the already affordable 2015 Chevrolet Cruze by approximately $1,500. Designated as the “L” trim model, the car has a suggested starting sticker of $16,995 while still including standard features such power programmable door locks, Bluetooth technology, a quality sound system that includes a CD player and MP3 input jack, and OnStar with the new 4G LTE technology that makes your car a traveling Wi-Fi hot spot. The L Trim package also includes an ECOTEC 4-cylinder engine with manual transmission that’s rated at 36 miles per gallon on the highway.

If you’re looking for more efficient gas mileage, consider the Chevrolet Cruz Turbo Diesel. The Chevy delivers 46 miles per gallon compared to 45 for the Volkswagen Jetta, while delivering 11 more horsepower and an increase of 44 foot pounds of torque. The Cruze diesel also has a standard automatic transmission, versus a manual for the VW. A larger gas tank combined with greater fuel economy means the Cruze has a range of about 130 miles farther than the Jetta. Test drive the Chevrolet Cruze at Chapman Chevy Tempe.

Equinox L Trim Model Cuts $2,400 Off Lowest Price

In a move to keep interest high in the mid-size SUV, Chevy also announced a new modest Equinox package that puts the family friendly vehicle in a lower price range. Designed as a strategy to attract buyers away from competitor’s more expensive models, the new Equinox package delivers a safe, functional vehicle full of added features like 4G LTE Wi-Fi and two years or 24,000 miles of scheduled maintenance. The Chevrolet Equinox delivers 32 mpg on the highway while providing plenty of room in the rear seat for adult-sized passengers. The new base model will be in dealerships soon. Check with Chapman Chevy Tempe for an updated delivery schedule.

Both the Cruze and Equinox base models still offer the same 3-year, 36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper limited warranty along with a 5-year, 100,000 mile powertrain guarantee. RemoteLink Key Fob Services are a standard feature on both vehicles that allow you to use your smartphone to unlock your vehicle in case of an emergency. You can also use the associated app to start your car or activate your horns and lights to find it in a congested parking area. RemoteLink services are included for 5 years after the purchase of your new Cruze or Equinox.

Perfect Size for the Modern Commuter

With a spacious interior that adjusts for carrying passengers or cargo, the 2015 Chevrolet Trax is making a name for itself in the mini-SUV category. More than 48 cubic feet of interior room and a 60/40 folding rear seat provide the flexibility needed as the Trax adjusts from easily handling four adults to carrying large boxes and bulky items. Fold the rear seat down and the front passenger seat forward to make room for a load of lumber, shelving or your trusty surfboard. Rear legroom allows you to use the Trax as an efficient people mover for ride sharing commutes without complaints from cramped up passengers.

Chevy Improves on European Trax

Already established as a popular commuter vehicle in Europe, Chevrolet re-engineered the suspension of the U.S. version and added electric power steering to make the vehicle more responsive. Hydro-elastic bushings up front erase the mild bumps that add a new level of adventure when driving many smaller vehicles. Added sound deadening material keeps road noise to a minimum while a new all-wheel drive system automatically assists the driver when the wheels start to slip. Test-drive the new 2015 Chevrolet Trax at Chapman Chevrolet in Tempe.

Features Add Functionality and Fun

Available 4G LTE Wi-Fi turns the Trax into a rolling Internet hotspot, allowing passengers to log in and either work or play with their mobile devices. A 7-inch Touch Screen provides a wealth of entertainment and communication options. Voice control allows you to play your favorite music or use your phone without ever taking your eyes off the road. The 2015 Chevrolet Trax has 15 storage areas for phones, glasses, maps and all the things necessary for a modern commute. Ten airbags are strategically placed to provide maximum protection in case of a collision. The OnStar Automatic Crash response system dispatches emergency help immediately to your location in case of an accident.

Efficient Engine Provides Plenty of Power

Rated at 34 mpg on the highway, the turbo-charged 1.4-liter engine is efficient as expected, but proves responsive enough when you step on the gas for a freeway merge or to get around a truck on a mountain grade. A standard six-speed automatic transmission moves seamlessly through the gears, delivering power when needed and efficiency when cruising down the open highway. Head over to Chapman Chevrolet in Tempe to put the Trax through its paces and see why it is quickly becoming a popular mini-SUV.
